My Philosophy and Training
My interest in healthcare dates back to my experience of my fathers illness with lung cancer for which he was diagnosed and subsequently passed away in 1994. Dedicating my life to herbal medicine perfectly combines my interest of science, art and healthcare and is a continual source of reward providing lasting results in the surrounding community.
I am an International member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists
(NIMH), the oldest and most established professional body of medical herbalists in the UK. As part of my membership I am required to partake in a continuing professional development scheme which means that my knowledge is continually updated with the latest research developments within the medical herbal profession.
Since qualifying in 2006 I have also undertaken a nutrition course (ION) and am currently studying the amazing technique known as iridology - using the maps within the eyes as a diagnostic tool.
My Herbal Medicine (Phytotherapy) training consisted of a 4 year accredited BSc degree covering in depth physiology, clinical medicine, diagnostic procedures (to a similar level of that of a GP), herbal pharmacy, material medica and 500 hours of supervised clinical training spread over 2 years in the busy London Archway Clinic of Herbal Medicine.
